Baewha Women's University: Lunar New Year Celebrations in Honolulu's Chinatown
This month marks the annual Lunar New Year celebrations around the world. In the state of Hawaii those celebrations are held in Honolulu's Chinatown district.
Go to this link to view a schedule for our Chinatown's Lunar New Year events.
Click this link to view a photo album of Lunar New Year celebrations in 2010. On this occasion I took my students from Hawaii Tokai International College on a Saturday field trip for the big parade and other celebrations.
I asked my students at that time to deliver a short speech about their experiences. These were posted on YouTube. Click this link to listen to Kento's presentation. Another student, Mayumi, submitted this commentary about her experiences. Haruka was another student of mine who went to Chinatown in 2010. Daniel, an American student, posted this clip about his time at Lunar New Year celebrations.
I hope you go to enjoy the Lunar New Year celebrations! Happy New Year!
