On Wednesday afternoon, July 11, 2012, all afternoon travel, tourism and hospitality students in the Korea Tourism College summer program will go on a field trip to the Hawaii Convention Center. This field trip has been arranged by Rod Uratsu.

Please report to the front lobby at 2:00p.m. We will go on a tour. Please come with questions for our hosts!

A convention center is a place where people gather to promote ideas and share interests with each other. Conventions centers such as our in Hawaii provide such a place for business and professional organizations, cultural events, among many others.

The task of marketing and promoting a convention center as a worthwhile destination is a tough one. The staff has to organize events and experiences that are entertaining, exciting, creative, imaginative and memorable. People talk, as you know, and one of the best ways to promote a destination such as a convention center is to cater to the needs and wants to attendees.

As for cultural events, watch this one from the Thunder Hawaii Team, a group that preserves traditional Korean music.
