Here is your first assignment. It is an individual one.
1.) Submit a one-page essay in English language. Begin by introducing yourself.
Then, share with me why you are majoring in tourism, and why you want to work in the tourism and hospitality industry. Focus on your specific area of interest: Tourism & Japanese; Airline Services; Digital Tourism; Hotel Cuisine; Hotel Management; Restaurant Management; Tourism & English; Tourism Event Planning; or Tourism Management. Be sure to to clearly define what your area of interest is.
Conclude with what you want to learn in this course. As I mentioned in class yesterday, Hawaii is one of the world's most popular tourism and hospitality destinations. What do you want to learn in Hawaii that you think you can use in South Korea?
Check your spelling, grammar, punctuation and details for correctness.

2.) On Tuesday, October 11, when your name is called read your essay to me and the class. Use correct English pronunciation, eye contact with me and the audience (the other students), inflection and expression. After each student completes his or her reading the class will applaud!
Submit your written essay to me using Word (.doc) software as an e-mail attachment. Remember to write your name at the top of the page. Send it to the e-mail address on the syllabus.
