Let's Talk About Student Learning and Presentation Skills

One of the items on this week's agenda is presentation skills. More and more teachers in classrooms of all types are discovering that imparting presentation skills to students is vital to effective learning.

Among other things, placing the responsibility of developing course-content presentations on the students -and moving away from teacher-centered lecturing- motivates students to internalize what they have learned. It also allows them to take ownership of the learning experience while developing those skills they will require to succeed in other academic setting and, ultimately, in the workplace. As a faculty your role will be to hold your students accountable for their language proficiency and other items for comprehensive assessment.

On the right side of this blog you will see a number of links on presentation skills. We will be reviewing these and the content contained therein. See you shortly!
