Off We Go to the Mission Houses Museum!
This Friday molrning, July 29, our group will be visiting the Mission Houses Museum near downtown Honolulu! The museum was established in 1923 by the Hawaiian Mission Children's Society. Click this link for visitors information.
Bring your cameras -but remember that museum rules do not allow photos inside the museum. If you are not sure please ask your tour guide or education specialist for permission.
Please board the #2, the #13 or the B-Express bus from your location in Waikiki. If you are looking for information on bus schedules go to the official Honolulu city bus web site. You can also call 848-5555. Remember that when you pay cash for bus fare ask for and keep your transfer ticket.
I recommend disembarking at the Hawaii State Capitol building off South Beretania Street. In fact, I will meet you there! We can walk together to the museum. On our way we will pass such places as Iolani Palace, the only royal residence in the USA, the Hawaii State Library, Honolulu Hale (City Hall) and Kawaiahao Church.
Our tour starts on-time at 9:30 a.m. Yes, there will be coffee!
Aloha!
Jeffrey Bingham Mead
